Julian Köb

Julian is a 30-year-old resident physician from Vienna. Before beginning his medical studies in Budapest, he spent a gap year abroad, which took him to Cambodia in early 2014. Through volunteering in a children’s village for several months, he developed a deep passion for working with Cambodian children and students. Driven by his motivation to work with people and after numerous volunteer trips, he officially founded Thomlang – Cambodian Youth Support in January 2021.
Since MedSchool graduation in 2022, he has been working in one of Vienna’s largest hospitals and plans to further specialize in emergency and pediatric medicine.

Daniel Schmidt
Graphic Designer
Growing up in a Children’s Village in Dornbirn, Austria, Daniel experienced community, creativity, and resilience from a young age, which shaped his perspective on the world. After graduating from the Tourism & Commercial College in 2017, Daniel volunteered at an orphanage in Cambodia, where he crossed paths with Julian. The experience formed a lasting connection with the local community and became the foundation for Thomlang – Cambodian Youth Support.
After majoring in Creative Media Design in Bangkok, Daniel now works as a graphic designer in a creative agency in Vorarlberg. He brings empathy and precision to everything he creates — for him, design isn’t just about visuals, it’s about giving meaning and movement to human stories, which is visible in the work he has done for CYS.
Miriam Faber
Data Protection and Legal Advisor
Miriam is a legal expert and works for the Austrian umbrella association of fundraising organizations. Her responsibilities include the handling of fundraising, NGO law and data-protection related tasks. Before enrolling in law school, she spent a year volunteering in Cambodia. That’s when she met some of the students that are now included in CYS’ program and got to see the difficulties that Cambodian youth face first hand. Therefore, she gladly joined CYS’ team and handles the organization’s website protection and legal matters.
