Just like in previous years, we were once again able to use your generous donations for a small community project. Throughout the past 4 years, we have been in close contact with the directors and teachers of two Primary Schools in rural Kampot, the Teb Vimean Primary School and Ang Ponleu Primary School. Both schools are located in rather poor communities, with many families unable to provide their children with much needed school supplies throughout the semester.
In October, right after the biggest holiday in Khmer culture Pchum Ben, and before the start of the new school year, we visited both schools to distribute school supplies in the form of more than 1000 notebooks, pens, and pencils. These school supplies will help a little more than 400 students aged five to twelve to a great start to the new semester.
On top of that, we helped cover the costs for both schools for important maintenance work on the school’s premises, like repair work and landscape work in order to avoid flooding during the raining season.
