Srey Nich’s English Graduation

These days, it is almost as if two different countries existed within Cambodia’s borders. While 70% of the country’s rural population still lacks access to clean water, electricity, or basic sanitation, the country’s capital is rapidly turning into a modern metropolis. Huge investment projects like the construction of malls and skyscrapers attract international businesses and companies, with the local labor market quickly adapting to international standards. This means that qualifications such as university degrees or English language proficiency have long become crucial.

In order to prepare our students for a future in a modern Cambodia, Thomlang – Cambodian Youth Support supports several students through English language school enrollment. We are very excited to announce that one of those students, Srey Nich, already successfully completed all twelve language levels at the Australian Center for Education and was officially rewarded with a language proficiency certificate at ACE’s graduation ceremony.

Hi guys!

I’m Srey Nich and I would like to tell you about my recent graduation from the Australian Center for Education. I am so happy that I finished my English program. After passing 12 language terms, it was time to take the IELTS. When I took the IELTS exam I was very nervous about the results. But fortunately, I passed it! I did not achieve the grade that I had hoped for but I really did my best. I’m so proud of myself! In my opinion, English is very important for our lives. Not only because we need it for work, but also because it’s essential for communication with people around the world. I felt really special at my graduation.

Thank you so much for everything that you provided for me. I really appreciate it!

All the best from,
Srey Nich

Srey Nich is making use of her English language skills every single day, as we helped her land a full-time job as HR assistant at an international university in Phnom Penh. Furthermore, we are currently planning yet another university enrollment, as Srey Nich wishes to pursue a Master’s degree to further her knowledge and career prospects.
