Chun is a 12-year-old boy who lives with his grandmother. The pair is very poor, which is the reason why Chun had to walk to school on foot every day. The thirty-minute walk became particularly challenging for the fourth-grader due to Cambodia’s extreme heat during dry season and harsh weather conditions during raining season. His school uniform was old and torn, and he was lacking notebooks and pencils. The boy was in need of new school supplies.
CYS supported Chun through the donation of a bicycle, that will enable him to commute to Primary school more easily. Furthermore, he received a new school uniform, backpack, shoes, and other necessary school supplies, so that he can return to school full of motivation and eager to study.
