A Moto for Sokleab

In a country in which public transportation doesn’t exist, getting around is an everyday challenge for Cambodians. Whether commuting to work or school, or running daily errands, many heavily rely on various forms of transportation.

Sokleab was faced with this issue once she graduated high school and moved to Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh. The 20-year-old aspires to enroll in culinary school and become a sous chef. Without parents that could financially support her with the purchase of a moto, she relied on our support to enable her to navigate through the big city.

Thomlang – Cambodian Youth Support donated a moto to Sokleab at the beginning of this year. This allowed her to sign up for a 3-month cooking course and to gain work experience in a restaurant as preparation for her enrollment in an international culinary academy.
