Christmas 2023

Since Cambodia gained access to the internet a few years ago, and the capital Phnom Penh has started developing at a rapid rate, Western traditions and holidays have become more and more popular in the Southeast-Asian country. Khmer people love lavish decorations and are particularly in awe of the colorful plastic Christmas trees that are put up in front of hotels, malls, coffee shops, and other popular public places in Phnom Penh. This is definitely a new experience for our students, as they all grew up in very secluded areas in rural Cambodia, but is ultimately a great way for them to learn about other cultures and customs and to see, what the capital of their country has to offer.
